CALENDAR OF EVENTS

 

The following events are offered by the VSHC or various organizations in Vermont or nearby. VSHC provides the list of non-VSHC events for information and not as an endorsement.

VSHC: September 25th - Rutland - Safety for the Supervisor
This is an all day event and will cover topics such as Safety Leadership, Inspections, Investigations, JSA’s, Ergonomics, Training, LOTO & Machine Guarding, Chemical Safety, Emergency Preparedness and more. (Topics may vary depending on needs of and input from hosting group.)

WHEN: Friday, September 25th, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

WHERE: Asa Bloomer State Office Building, Room 266 Conference Room, 2nd Floor

COST: $75 VSHC members; $100 non-members PLUS Vermont State Training Grant reimbursement of 50% for eligible businesses (manufacturing, health care, information technology, environmental technology.) Pay only the non-reimbursable part which would then be $37.50 for members and $50 for non-members.

VSHC: October 8th - Fairlee - Expo 2009
Make your plans to attend Vermont Safety & Health Council Fall Expo – Thursday, October 8th at the Lake Morey Inn and Resort in Fairlee, VT. The theme is “Doing More with Less --- A Low Cost Stimulus Package for Safety". Come share your ideas and hear the success stories of your neighbors and peers.” See FLYER for an outline and registration information.

Interested in being a Vendor? For only $150 you can reserve a standard, 6’ skirted table, with electrical power (if needed) at no extra cost. A light breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack is included in booth registration fee; extra persons are $40 a piece to cover the cost of food. All vendor staff may participate in Expo workshops; the vendor space is within the conference space. Reserve your space now with this VSHC Vendor Form. VSHC: December 7th-10th - Rutland - General Industry OSHA-30 Class
This class is authorized by OSHA and all attendees will receive a wallet card from the US Dept of Labor. Topics generally included in the program (final agenda yet to be determined):

* Overview of OSHA and Recordkeeping

* Toxic and Hazardous Substances

* PPE and Safety and Health Programs

* Confined Spaces

* Walking and Working Surfaces and Material Handling

* Machine Guarding, Lockout/Tagout & Portable Power Tools

* Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans

* Fire Protection, Electrical and Welding, Cutting & Brazing

* Flammable and Combustible liquids

* Occupational Health & Environmental Controls

* Special Topics: To be determined

WHEN: Monday-Thursday December 7th-10th, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day

WHERE: Asa Bloomer State Office Building, Room 266 Conference Room, 2nd Floor

COST: $300 (VSHC Members); $375 (Non-members) for the 4-day class which includes breakfast and lunch each day, OSHA manual and class materials and handouts. PLUS Vermont State Training Grant reimbursement of 50% for eligible businesses (manufacturing, health care, information technology, environmental technology.) Pay only the non-reimbursable part which would then be $150.00 for members and $187.50 for non-members.
